Republic Day Poems

Republic Day is one of the most important national festivals in India. It is celebrated with great splendor and grandeur to commemorate the implementation of the Constitution of India January 26, 1950. It was also on this day that our country was declared a total sovereign, democratic state and a republic for the first time. Celebrations in the form of massive parades, playing patriotic songs, cultural events and reciting poems occupy the front seat. A number of poems were written by great poets of the Republic Day which means patriotism and brotherhood. It is recited in this special day to the television or programs during television. Given here are some patriotic poems to promote unity, brotherhood and familiarity among the people in this vast country.

Patriotic Poems On Republic Day

Republic Day

We Indians are very proud to celebrate Republic day
Protected by soldiers in the border who never sway
Hear me, I just have few things to say
Reading this you may decide your own way

Over the years that has past
'26th Jan is just another holiday', I thought
With the very recent wisdom I have got
I salute the leaders who had fought

I hear the media 'flash news' and end up in tear
'Will there be more news on bomb blasts?', I fear
Horrible living in the midst of terrorism and war
Is this what the great Mahatma dreamt for?

Why blame the Politicians and Government who don't repent
Hey! As an individual I wont relent
For the election freebies and compliments they recommend
I shall say 'NO' and will not bend

Let's not watch the cricketer's zeroes
And stay away from the Corruption bureaus
Our great Jawans have nothing but only sorrows
Let us bow our heads for those real life heroes

Pay your tax, be very brave, take the wise decision today
Don't you wish your grand children to happily play?
We Indians are very proud to celebrate Republic day
Protected by soldiers in the border who never sway

We the youth, let's speak the truth
Sathya Meva Jayathe!

Khanjar

Kehte hain alvida hum ab is jahaan ko,
Jaakr Khuda ke ghar se phir aaya na jaayega.

Ahle-e-vatan agarche humein bhool jaayenge,
Ahal-e-vatan ko humse bhulaya na jaayega.

Zulmo-sitam se tang naa aayenge hum kabhi,
Humse sare-niyaaz jhukaya na jaayega.

Isse ziyada aur sitam kya karenge vo,
Isse ziyada unse sataya na jaayega.

Yeh sach hai, maut humko mita degi dahar se,
Lekin hamara naam mitaya na jaayega.

Hum zindagi se rooth ke baithe hain jail mein,
Ab zindagi se humko manaya na jayega.

Humne lagayi aag hai jo inqalaab ki,
Is aag ko kisi se bujhaya na jaayega.

Yaron! Hai ab bhi waqt humein dekh-bhaal lo,
Phir kuch pata hamara lagaya na jaayega.

Ai maut! Jald aa ki tera intezaar hai,
Ab humse baare-jeest uthaya na jaayega.

Aazaad hum kara na sake apne mulq ko,
'Khanjar' yeh muh Khuda ko dikhaya na jaayega.

Let My Country Awake

Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been
broken up into fragments by
narrow domestic walls;
Where the words come out from
the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches
its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary
desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee
into ever-widening thought and action -
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
let my country awake.
